cinéSPEAK’s unique role in Philly’s vibrant media arts ecosystem is working with grassroots organizations to utilize independent cinema as a cultural organizing tool, highlighting local filmmakers and organizations in our online journal, and bringing arthouse cinema into public spaces. By programming in nontraditional venues, as well as partnering with a variety of organizations, we are bringing in audiences that generally are not engaged by other independent film programming.
Collaboration
is core to cinéSPEAK’s work.
We know that we’re stronger when we work together, so we team up with other organizations with different expertise and focus areas to produce strong events that reach wide audiences.
Each year, cinéSPEAK partners with numerous local and national organizations and grassroots movements to host cinematic events and screenings. We believe cinema is the ideal vessel to share ideas, unite communities, and advocate for social issues.
By partnering with cinéSPEAK, you support filmmakers, artists, and nourish the community. When you partner with us, you can access services and collaborations including programming and curation; payment for licensing fees and artist fees; and sharing resources, space, and general ideating on how to make film culture an equitable and fair space and practice.
