September can feel like a fresh start: the beginning of fall, back to school, the Jewish new year. So if you’ve spent your summer traveling or being outdoors as much as possible, now is a great time to tune back into Philadelphia’s independent community film scene, which has so many amazing events this month.
Opportunities to see locally-made films this month include Scribe Video Center’s Storyville featuring a short film about youth incarceration in Pennsylvania, IPMF’s annual local filmmaker showcase, a screening of Expanding Sanctuary at Making Worlds, and Temple University’s Film and Media Arts students’ MFA Showcase.
Make sure to read the full round-up to plan your September film calendar!
